Good ambiance for a hotel bar. Quiet for a Monday night and the food was very good! Our test is - Would we come back? And the answer is a definite YES!!
I really wanted to like this place since it is so close to my house but with two bad experiences I will not be recommending this place to anyone. First bad experience was on a Saturday for the prime rib special I have heard advertised on the radio. We even invited our in-laws to town to take them to this restaurant we had high hope for. We went for a late lunch at about 2 pm. When we got there I had a great first impression but was short lived when I got a Bloody Mary they advertise as one of the best in the state and that it's a "salad before your meal". What a joke!! It was a tiny Bloody with only a meet skewer with Cheese, an olive and pickle spear, hardly worth calling a salad and on top of that tasted horrible. A bad Bloody can be forgiven with great prime rib and I was so excited to get the biggest prime they had. When I went to order the prime rib the waitress rudely informed us that the pime rib wasn't served until 5 pm. No where in the radio advertising did it say this time stipulation and there was no mention of it anywhere on the menu. So at this point I was pretty upset and informed the waitress that they NEED to advertise this time stipulation because they advertise as a biker and classic car stop and if someone came from a long distance for a prime rib special and found out it wasn't being served until a specific time they would be very mad.
Terrible service. Waited 90 minutes for our meal! Received the food and it was mediocre, received the bill with no apologies and no discount. Complained and they shrugged their shoulders. 10 minutes from home, trying to support local but I would have been time money and frustration ahead by driving 30 miles to Rochester for lunch with the family. We will never go back, I would rather go to Subway and that is saying a lot. Top it off, card machine was broke, had to walk down the street to an ATM to pay the bill.
Hands down this place knows what good service is. Food is amazing, staff is very friendly, the atmosphere is amazing. Just because of this place i will be making many stops to Kenyon.
This is the worst place ever. First time I’ve come here and I had to wait over an hour for a SALAD. I asked for water and never got it so I had to go up to the bar and get it myself. But you know what, I don’t blame the staff, I blame the owner!!! You schedule one waitress who is running herself dry trying to help over 50 people. A bartender being yelled at for slow service when it’s not her fault and a cook who is also trying to help tables. You clearly don’t know how to run a restaurant and should be held accountable. Your staff deserve way better. You’re a horrible restaurant owner. It’s awful that you’re short staffed and won’t even come in to help them. Half your staff that was working said they didn’t even work there. You got credit card machines down and you don’t even put up a sign or tell people. Absolutely dreadful.
So my second experience was during Kenyon rose fest. A friend and I went in for a late lunch again at 2 pm while we waited for the car show awards at 2:30. The place was full but I wouldn't say it was anywhere near over busy so we figured we could get just a sandwich order in and ate in 30 minutes. Well we were wrong, it took over 40 minutes just to get out 2 sandwiches and when we asked what the status was on our food the same waitress rudely replied "well it's busy what do you expect?" Needless to say we got our food and scarfed it down and got out of there never to return again.
Do NOT go there if you are looking for a good Bloody Mary, there are so many other local places that have bloodies that far exceed these.
